The pricing for the DGEM System is based on the number of plans maintained on the system. Additional fees may be charged for documents or amendments created for plans that are not maintained on the system through the DGEM Amendment Wizards. This DGEM Pricing Guide provides a detailed explanation of the pricing applicable to the various features of the DGEM System.

  • Monthly fees. For users of the DGEM System, a monthly account maintenance fee of $50 will be charged along with a per document fee based on the number of plans maintained on the DGEM System. Thus, as new plans are placed on the system, the plan sponsor will pay a fee for those plans actually placed on the system. This will allow sponsors to delay paying a fee for most plans until the sponsor converts those plans onto the EGTRRA-approved ASCi document. The monthly fee is based on the total number of documents maintained on the system, including defined contribution, defined benefit, and specialty documents. The following chart outlines the per document charge based on the number of plans on the system.
    Number of PlansPer-Document Monthly Fee
    1 – 10 $5.00/plan
    11 – 50 $50 + $3.00/plan above 10
    51 – 100 $170 + $2.00/plan above 50
    101 – 500 $270 + $1.00/plan above 100
    501 -1,500 $670 + .50/plan above 500
    +1,500 Call for Quotation
For example, if a sponsor has 75 plans on the system as of the beginning of the month, the sponsor would be charged $220 for that month -- $170 for the first 50 plans and an additional $50 (25 plans at $2 per plan). If a plan sponsor has 150 plans on the system as of the beginning of the month, the sponsor would be charged $320 -- $270 for the first 100 plans, plus $50 for the plans in excess of 100 (50 plans at $1 per plan). The above monthly fee would be in addition to the $50 monthly account maintenance fee described above.
  • DGEM Amendment Wizards. Special pricing applies for users that import external clients into the DGEM system for purposes of creating batch amendments. Generally, plan amendments, notices and forms are available on the DGEM system for no additional charge. However, if a user imports clients who are not currently on the DGEM System under one of the DGEM Wizards, additional fees will apply, as follows:
    • Roth Amendment Wizard – permits users to import client data for purposes of creating batch Roth Deferral amendments. A one-time fee of $25 per amendment will be charged (not to exceed $5,000 for up to 750 plans per amendment). For more than 750 plans, please contact us for special pricing options.
    • 401(k)/401(m) Regulation Amendment Wizard – permits users to import client data for purposes of creating batch amendments to comply with the final 401(k)/401(m) regulations. A one-time fee of $25 per amendment will be charged (not to exceed $5,000 for up to 750 plans per amendment). For more than 750 plans, please contact us for special pricing options.
    • Form 8905 Wizard – permits users to import client data to create batch Form 8905s for plans not on the DGEM system. A one-time fee of $250 will be charged which permits the user to generate any number of Form 8905s.
    • Safe Harbor Notice Wizard – permits users to import client and plan data to create Safe Harbor 401(k) Notices (that comply with the final 401(k) regulations) for plans not on the DGEM system. A one-time fee of $500 will be charged which permits the user to generate any number of Safe Harbor Notices.
  • Specialty Documents. In addition to the prototype and volume submitter documents described above, the DGEM System also provides the following specialty documents:
    • Cash Balance plan
    • 403(b) Plan
    • Employee Stock Ownership Plan
The specialty documents may be purchased on an unlimited basis or may be purchased on a plan-by-plan basis. Under either method, ASCi will provide relevant document provisions and administrative forms, including an SPD. As individually designed plans, however, ASCi is not responsible for submitting the plans to the IRS for a determination letter, or for ensuring the plans meet applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Unlimited license. Under the unlimited license, a user must pay a one-time $2,500 licensing fee for each type of specialty document licensed by the user. In addition, to obtain an unlimited license, the user must be a registered DGEM client. Thus, the user will be subject to the $50/month account maintenance fee and will be charged the monthly per-document charge discussed above for prototype/volume submitter plans. (A specialty document generated on the system is added to any other plans on the system in determining the monthly per-document charge.)
    • Per-document license. Under the per-document license, a user must pay $500 for each specialty document generated on the DGEM system. In addition, to obtain a per-document license, the user must be a registered DGEM client. Thus, the user will be subject to the $50/month account maintenance fee and will be charged the monthly per-document charge discussed above for prototype/volume submitter plans. (A specialty document generated on the system is added to any other plans on the system in determining the monthly per-document charge.)
