ASC Vice President, Sarah Simoneaux, elected President of ASPPA 2005/2006

Sarah Simoneaux, CPC, Vice President of ASC, became the president of ASPPA at the close of this year’s ASPPA Annual Conference.
A long-time member of ASPPA’s Executive Committee, Sarah Simoneaux has been on the Board of Directors since 1996. Her strong leadership skills combined with 2 ½ decades of pension experience, makes her the perfect candidate for Presidency. “ASPPA is the inclusive, not the exclusive, society providing benefits and opportunities for all professionals involved in the retirement industry, in partnership with other benefit organizations wherever possible,” says Simoneaux.
Since joining ASC in 1988, Sarah has been an asset to ASC and its clients as the Vice President of ASC’s Support Department. Additionally Sarah co-lead the development of ASC’s Compliance Testing Software, which has gained the reputation in the retirement plan community as the premier testing system. Sarah consults regularly with ASC’s largest Compliance Testing clients such as Wachovia, Prudential, Vanguard, Fidelity, and Wells Fargo. As a previous owner of a pension consulting practice, Sarah understands what ASC clients need, enabling her to direct the enhancements of ASC systems as well as guide ASC in providing top level support and training.
ASPPA, a non-profit organization acting for the improvement of retirement income policy, is the premier national organization for career retirement plan professionals. ASPPA offers extensive educational opportunities for its members – from professional credentialing to continuing education. Its Government Affairs department keeps a close watch on all legislative and regulatory activities affecting retirement benefits and pension policy.
Sarah lives just outside of New Orleans with her husband of 16 years, Dr. Peter Simoneaux, and their two children William, 14, and Nicole, 13. Recently she and her family survived Hurricane Katrina and are currently involved with rebuilding their community.
