    Position: Defined Benefit Software Support Specialist / Senior Actuarial Analyst

ASC is seeking a self-motivated senior pension administrator/consultant or senior actuarial analyst to join a support team known for its superior customer service and focus on improvement.     Job location may be telecommuting or in our Los Angeles area office. Benefits include a 37.5 work week without time sheets, flexible hours, medical and dental insurance, 401(k) and 125 plans, PTO, continuing education/conference attendance, and home office costs.

    Your role would be to help our many users of the ASC DB Valuation and Compliance Testing system.

    Responsibilities:

    • Support our existing clients in using the ASC DB Valuation and Compliance Testing System via phone, email, and online meetings. This may include troubleshooting and working with our programmers.
    • Work with clients and developers to deliver product enhancements, including rigorous testing and documentation.
    • Create and update training materials, including webcasts, video series, user guides, Online Help, and FAQs.
    • Deliver client training and webcast presentations.
    • Manage multiple projects independently while being flexible for surprises.
    • Work with our sales and marketing team by contributing to the development and update of marketing materials and website content.
    • Stay current with legislative and regulatory guidance by attending conferences and webcasts.
    • Professionally represents all ASC products when meeting with clients and prospects.

    Qualifications and Skills:


    • Broad knowledge of pension valuations, including pension administration, compliance testing, accounting, plan documents, proposals, and reporting requirements. Multiple decrement experience is a plus.
    • ASC system experience (5+ years)
    • Demonstrated customer service mindset – focused on helping, teaching, and improving the user experience.
    • An inquisitive mindset for creative problem-solving, including ability to research pension law and regulation independently and document findings for a broad range of audiences.
    • Exceptional organizational and time management, including the ability to meet deadlines.
    • Clear written and oral communication that adapts to technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with team members in a positive and mission-focused way to complete projects.
    • Credentials – ASPPA or EA, or progress toward credentials are preferred but not required.
    • Advanced knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs is highly valued.
    • Patience and a sense of humor are valued.
    • Industry knowledge – professional designations such as ASPPA or EA (or progress toward) are valued but not required.
