Position: ASC Plan Document ERISA Attorney
ASC is seeking an attorney experienced in drafting and supporting various retirement plan document types, including pre-approved §401(a) defined contribution and defined benefit plans, pre-approved §403(b) plans and §457 plans. While the position requires a wide range of expertise, experience in all areas is not required. Willingness to expand your knowledge base is important. The position offers great growth potential.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assist in drafting and updating plan document provisions, checklists, forms, notices and other ancillary materials for plan documents offered by ASC.
- Work with our Plan Document Support staff in responding to client requests for consultation via ASC’s Silver Support and DGEM Support.
- Work with our Plan Document Support staff in responding to client requests with regard to the DGEM System.
- Assist the ASC software development team in implementing and enhancing the ASC DGEM Plan Document system.
- Develop and present ASC webcasts and other training sessions on regulatory topics.
- Draft ASC newsletters on relevant plan document topics.
- Work with our established sales and marketing team to grow the ASC business.
- Complete various other tasks and projects as needed.
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:
- Broad knowledge of retirement plans, IRS and ERISA regulations.
- Excellent research, writing, presentation, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Must be pro-active, self-motivated, be able to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Experience with the DGEM system is helpful, but not required.
- Years of experience required: Minimum of 5 years in ERISA and employee benefits areas.
